Turkeys

Thanksgiving was full of turkeys for us.  It was really nice and relatively quiet.  Nothing fancy, as you can tell by our table clothe, but it was nice for us.  We cooked all day Thursday until the food was done and then we ate a whole lot of turkey.  It was nice not to be on a time table.  Of course we had little turkeys helping us all along the way.  (waste not want not?)

The boys pulled the wishbone apart and it broke evenly.  I have never seen that happen before.  I suppose that they both got their wishes.
There was a lot of playing this weekend.   The above picture is of daddy spider carrying his baby spiders to go look for food.  Spiders are played a lot in this house.  We also played video games and watched t.v.  We didn't do any shopping, although I thought about it when I was up with the baby before six.

After being in the house for a while we had 'mandatory outside fun time'.  Axton ate some leaves while the boys jumped on the huge pile we made.

The boys started rolling down all their trucks and anything with wheels down the slide.  Of course I knew that them RIDING on a toy down the slide was coming so I went and got my camera.  And of course this was done until a child crashed and burned bad enough to scare everyone else.  Dirk ended his ride on his head skidding for several feet.  I picked him up and dug the dirt out of his hair and he was good to go.
It was nice to be together as a family and not have any demands on us at all.  I even took a few naps.  I think we all did things that we liked to do.  Now we are all excited for Christmas.
 Things we are thankful for:

Ben
*to be home
*a wonderful wife
*my boys

Tana
*having Ben back
*that Ax has joined our home

Austen
*a bike with a motor
*angry birds game

Dirk
*outside
*tickle tickle

Axton
*graham crackers

I love so many things about this post. First the table cloth! What a fun idea for the boys! Next the "daddy spider." I've only seen that game played as daddy being a horse...spiders is a creative twist. And of course I love seeing all the boy things your kids come up with so I know what my future holds. I'm taking note to keep riding toys and slides away from each other.

Y'all come back now!
