Halloween

Austen and Dirk had a ball trunk or treating for Halloween.  Dirk would not wear the knight costume and after I put the dragon costume on he cried and flailed on the ground for over twenty minutes trying to rip it from his body.  It was nice and tight so I won that battle and he showed up in a costume.  (The Halloween party we went to earlier in the week Dirk was without a costume)

Dirk and Austen carved pumpkins on the 31st.  I was more than in awe that we accomplished this without any bloodshed.  It was me, three babies and three serrated knives.  That night we lit them and passed out candy as a family.  After the boys went to bed Austen started crying.  Upon investigation we found the reason for his tears was that he no longer wanted to share his candy with those knocking on our door.  The pumpkins were promptly blown out and lights turned off to reassure one little boy that he would have some candy left in the morning.

I love Austen's costume! He looks like a good spider man. I am glad the Dirk finally wore his Dragon costume!

Did they all really get to hold knives at the same time? You really are the coolest mom ever. When I have boys, I'm sending them to your house until they're responsible adults.
P.S. I totally understand your fear about giving everyone else the candy Austen. Valid point.

Y'all come back now!
