This is a desk that we got off the free list of craigs list (my favourite place to shop). I wanted to try decoupaging and since I have no sentimental attachment, and it was free, I thought it would be the perfect practice canvas. So I sanded, painted, then mod podged the top.

I think that it turned out okay but I don't think we will keep it. One more item for our yard sale. But I didn't care if it turned out good or not, really just wanted to practice and learn from it. Learn I did. I learned that you don't NEED the name brand but glad I tried it first. It is okay if it is not perfect, gives it character. Glue the pictures down without little helping hands if you are particular in it being perfect and take your time with that part. I also learned that I really enjoyed doing it.

I also thought that it was a fun thing to do with a 2 year old. Austen loved painting it. He was solely in charge of the feet and the under side. He was sad however when we turned it back right side up and put the drawers in it because it just doesn't make as cool of an 'air plane' or 'house' that way. Austen also got a little paint in his hair. Ben thought that we would have to cut it but I washed his hair with finger nail polish remover and it worked like a charm. A successful craft attempt overall!

I think it turned out great! Look how crafty and domestic you're becoming... I need some lessons.
I kinda like Austen's hair with the paint. It looks like you highlighted the top. Pretty cute if you ask me
