Scierra Vista AKA Mexico

I wanted to share some of the funny things about the place I live (before I move). I have really enjoyed my time here and would love to stay, IF Ben could come home every night. Since that is not going to happen I am going to follow him to Colorado.

I live in Sierra Vista AZ and these are a few things that I've noticed.

- The above picture is just down the street of where I live. Every time I pass, it brightens up my day and makes me smile. There are several places like unto this.

- Although it is the desert it is also high in elevation which makes for interesting plant combinations. Most houses are zero scaped (which is a good idea to save water but not very kid friendly might I point out) with palm trees, cactuses and PINE TREES! Strange to see them together but it is its own kind of beautiful.

- Anywhere in town you can look into the big blue sky and see . . . . the blimp. Now the blimp supposedly watches the border for illegals escaping and such things but it can always see me when I am outside. I lovingly refer to the blimp as 'big brother'.

- Although we are only a couple miles from Mexico (as the crow flies) there is only ONE, I repeat ONE Mexican restaurant. Does anyone else find this odd, there are more Mexican restaurants in Cedar City Utah. There are over a dozen Asian restaurants though for your tasting pleasure.

- Boarder patrol is oh so common. And so are covered parks. I LOVE covered parks. Whoever started that trend is a genius. Not so common are splash pads, I don't understand that one but what ya gonna to do?

- I very rarely see people of Hispanic descent. I often see big trucks with lift kits and oversized tires, also low riding cars with large shiny rims.

- My personal favourite; my toilet does not flush toilet paper. I feel like I should pay someone a quarter every time I go in there. (Sorry no picture, didn't want to subject anyone to such things)

I have loved living here and am excited to go from summer staight to winter (only because Ben is coming with me). So, so long Mexico and Scierra Vista, I will miss your sunny hot days.
